이 책은 러시아어를 처음 배우려는 혹은 과거에 공부했으나 이를 이어가려는 전공자 혹은 비전공자를 위한 책이다. 또한 러시아어에 관심이 있고, 러시아를 여행할 계획이 있는 분들을 위한 교재이다. 이 교재는 알파벳, 러시아어를 올바르게 읽는 방법, 문법, 8개의 실생활 주제로 구성되어 있으며, 이 8개의 주제는 향후 러시아를 여행하거나 유학하는데 필요한 내용이다. 게다가 연습문제에 대한 해답 및 듣기 파일도 제공이 된다. 문법부문에서는 다음 품사들이 다룰것이다. 대명사(인칭대명사, 소유대명사), 명사와 형용사 (단수, 복수, 6격), 동사(원형, 현재, 과거, 미래형), 그리고 부사. 러시아어 문법을 습득하면 스스로 문장과 대화문을 만드는 것은 물론, 더 나아가 러시아어 텍스트를 읽고 이해하는데 큰 도움이 될 것이다.
이 책을 공부하는 데 있어서, 우선 러시아 문법을 익히기를 추천한다(러시아어의 품사 및 6격에 맞는 변형 방법). 그러나 만약 문법이 너무 어렵게 느껴진다면, 뒷부분의 실생활 주제를 공부하며 문법 부분을 동시에 공부하는 것도 방법이 될 것이다.
Learn Russian in English is a textbook for philologists and non-philologists who are begining or are continuing to study Russian and will also be useful for anyone who is interested in the Russian language and are planning to visit Russia. This textbook includes alphabet, reading rules, grammar and 8 important topics which are necessary for travelling or studying in Russia. There are also answers and audiofiles. In the section «Grammar» the following Parts of Speech are considered: Pronouns (personal and possessive), Nouns and Adjectives (singular and plural forms, 6 cases), Verbs (infinitive, Present, Past and Future Tenses) and Adverbs. Knowledge of the Russian grammar system will help you make sentences and dialogues independently, furthermore read and understand the Russian texts.
